What is IPAF PAL+?
IPAF PAL+ is an optional, additional one day of category-specific training aimed at MEWP operators working in higher risk or challenging environments, e.g. high level steelwork, confined overhead spaces or challenging terrain. Operators must hold the standard IPAF Operator PAL card in the relevant category before taking the IPAF PAL+ course for that category. See our 3a & 3b IPAF Training course.
What MEWPs are covered under IPAF PAL+?
The IPAF PAL+ is available for 3a+ Mobile Vertical, 3b+ Mobile Boom, 1b+ Static Boom and 1a+ Static Vertical. See our IPAF 3a, 3b and 1b courses for further information on categories covered.
Extra categories
Different combinations of IPAF PAL+ categories can be done on the same training day subject to notice and number of candidates. Call 0845 600 1550 for further information.
Location
This one day IPAF PAL+ course is available from any of our training centres: Manchester, London, Glasgow, Newcastle, Midlands / Banbury, Belfast, Dublin, Cork, Portlaoise, Limerick.
On-site training
IPAF PAL+ can only be carried out at an IPAF Approved Training Centre and not on site.
Certification
Successful delegates will receive an IPAF PAL+ Card valid for 5 years and an IPAF Certificate of Training for the categories they are tested on. The PAL card will have a + after the category code. An IPAF safety guide and an IPAF log book will be given to each delegate on the day of training. Photographs for the operator card are taken on site and included in the price.

Trainee Requirements
Candidates for IPAF courses must be at least 16 years of age. They must be medically fit to operate machinery. Operators must hold the standard IPAF Operator PAL card in the relevant category before taking the IPAF PAL+ course for that category.
PPE Requirements
Trainees must have the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment with them i.e. Helmet, Safety Boots, Hi-Visibility Vest, Harness & Adjustable Restraint Lanyard.
